Thanks to everyone who came along to see us on Saturday at the Shere Street Party 2017 #greatgettogether. The village looked stunning set against a backdrop of the most perfect weather and the summery sound of the kiddies enjoying the duck race on the Tillingbourne. Gin was flowing courtesy of the Silent Pool Distillers, delicious cream teas from EnjoyEnjoy were devoured and Gomshall fire station displayed their gleaming fire engine for people to admire.
Shere Village Cinema was proud to be involved in the event which aimed at bringing everyone together in honour of the MP Jo Cox and in support of local community projects and charities. Throughout the day, we had many people visit us in our Hollywood themed gazebo where they participated in fun competitions and chatted to us about our biggest passion...films! It was wonderful to hear how the cinema is a genuine focal point for the village - a place where all generations can come together to be entertained not only by the films but by the community spirit it creates. So many people told us about how they love coming the our film nights to catch up with friends and meet new people. Not to mention their love of our half-time ice cream intervals!
It was a fabulous day and a massive thank you to the organisers and everyone who visited.
