On April 29th 2017, Shere Village Cinema proudly supported the South-West Surrey Mobile Physiotherapy Service (Mobile Physio) at their Fundraising Film Evening held in the Shere Village Hall. On arrival, guests were seated at beautifully decorated tables where they tucked into a delicious supper prepared by the catering company EnjoyEnjoy of Gomshall. Afterwards, they settled into their seats to watch the film Sully, starring Tom Hanks as the pilot who safely landed Flight 1549 on the Hudson River in New York in 2009. As is tradition at our cinema events, we left the audience in suspense midway through the film to let them indulge in ice cream from Shere Delights, chocolate brownies and coffee. During the interval, the raffle was also drawn with prizes generously donated by local businesses and individuals. We then showed the second half of the film to an enthralled audience.
One of the organisers of the event and a Trustee of Mobile Physio, Lynne Curnow, expressed her delight at the success of the evening and the wonderful sense of community that the event created. The evening raised an incredible £1,300, including £600 from the raffle.
Angus and Jayne from the Shere Village Cinema were thrilled to be a part of the evening and would like to thank Lynne, Debbie and the Mobile Physio team for their kindness and generosity on the night.
